Local Walks

Meet at Waverton Station at 7:30 a.m. Walk down Bay Road to Woolcott Street Euoka Street Union Street Commodore Cres over bridge to Union Street, Lavender Street to Lavender Crescent through Watt Park Walk around Lavender Bay under the bridge to Waruda Street, up Kirribilli Avenue to Jeffereys Street Coffee at Fitzroy Food. Walk about 1hour. Return to Waverton by train from Milsons Point.

Rain is predicted for Monday so there is a back up option.  

RAINY DAY - Train to Town Hall and walk around the QVB with coffee in the city.

Margaret Rice is a journalist by training and lives in Sydney. She has written news and features and worked as a sub-editor for Australian Associated Press (AAP), as medical writer for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian, and as feature writer for The Good Weekend. Margaret’s latest book - A Good Death - is a guide to facilitate much needed conversation and provide resources for grief management and palliative care.

Margaret’s talk will lift the lid on the taboos that surround death, sharing practical information and compassionate advice from multiple sources to break down boundaries and offer better choices of care to suit individual needs. Margaret’s aim is to help the dying and their carers feel less isolated, and help us all face death better prepared.

Come and listen to Margaret at our next Waverton Hub Speakers’ Presentation: 2pm at the Waverton Uniting church hall, 75 Bay Rd Waverton Tuesday 4 February. No need to book – free entry – all invited.
