Speakers Program

Event Type: Speakers

Date: Tuesday Oct 30, 2018, 2:00 pm

Changing Life through Golf James Gribble - your next Speaker on October 30th 2018 at the Hall….1.30pm

James worked previously in investment banking in London and holds an economics degree from the University of Sydney. Following an accident overseas in late 2008, he became a quadriplegic and spent 4 years focusing on an intensive rehabilitation program proving many doctors wrong with his significant recovery. He is now able to walk short distances on crutches.

Prior to his injury he was a low single handicap golfer who played numerous courses around the world. After a long struggle back to golf, he is now one of the only quadriplegic golfers in Australia and arguably the world.

James has experienced firsthand the impact that golf can have on an able-bodied and less able individual. The psychological, physical and social benefits as the latter provided the inspiration to make the game universally accessible to all abilities through EGA.

He has been involved with numerous initiatives focused specifically on improving disabled individuals lives, many with Royal Rehabilitation Hospital in Sydney. James is also an ambassador for the Sargood Centre (a new spinal-cord injury lifestyle rehabilitation centre) in Collaroy. He possesses a unique combination of passions for helping those with disabilities and golf with a strong corporate background.

James has a  riveting, interesting  story to tell;  it has led him to meet people as diverse as Bali bombing victims and Prince Harry.

Be sure to put your next Speakers meeting at the Hall into your diary:

October 30th at 1.30

Don’t miss this one!
