Walkers Programs March to June 2019
The Waverton Hub offers two walks every Monday; a 7.30 Local Area walk and a longer 9.30 Out of Area Walk.
For the 7.30 am walkers, the leader will be at the Waverton Station whatever the weather.
Note that the 7.30am Walks will now only be listed in the Hub’s eNews Newsletter published on Fridays as they will b organised/chosen on an ad-hoc weekly basis.
For the 9:30am walks, walks may be changed to a different one or cancelled at the last minute due to weather conditions or lack of a leader. If so, you will be notified by email on the morning of the walk at the latest, so please make it a habit to check your email before leaving home to join a walk.

Media Release - Grant to the Hub
A media release went out from Minister Ken Wyatt’s Office on Thursday August 23 2018 announcing a grant of $42,000 which he has made to the Hub. The Minister said the Sydney-based Waverton Hub was an outstanding example of how communities can support older Australians and combat social isolation. He has visited us twice and is a strong supporter of the Waverton Hub model.

Life Membership for Chris Udy
Rev Chris Udy has retired as Minister of the Crows Nest Uniting Church. Life membership of the Hub is being conferred in recognition of Rev Udy’s early and ongoing support for the Hub, including facilitating Hub use of the Waverton Hall. The Life Membership Presentation was attended by about 40 members. Rev Udy was delighted to receive the life membership and talked about the importance of community especially in this age of social media. Madeleine MacPherson and her team provided a delicious afternoon tea. Thank you Madeleine, Pat, Cheryl, Sandy, Lin, Lorna and Janet.
On Sunday August 20 Hub members visited the Sydney Bus Museum in Leichhardt. Later they had lunch at the Glebe Tramsheds. Thanks to Chris for the photos.
Next Safari is on November 19. Watch for details.
